The Essentials
Snap Circuits are a fantastic STEM product with their electronics exploration kits that come in a great array of theme choices – the snap circuit brand kits have won numerous awards and recognition – and rightly so!
Kids work on projects by actively building things like an alarm, a radio, a swinging meter, a programmable word fan, dual LED display, color codes circuits that interact with an iphone or android, a light tunnel, mirror circuits, sound circuits, remote control range rovers, and so many more unique projects.
While engaged in the Snap Circuit Projects kids also build fine motor skills, visual information processing, coordination, motor control, executive functioning, and reading skills. Facilitation of socialization, persistence, and flexible thinking can also be facilitated when played in small groups of two with varying aged siblings or peers and side by side with a parent, educator, and/or therapist.
No tools are required to build these projects because they are snap modules that provide good electrical connection with no soldering.
The various themes available in the collection are an excellent motivator and peak many levels of interest. A partial list of the collection is provided here based on our interactions with the products. In no way, does it represent the entire collection.
Fun Factor
The consensus from the panel of experts, parents, and kid-consultants is that it is an excellent way to infuse fun while building skills. This game has a great Family Fun Factor because the challenge level keeps both adults and children of all ages interested. It is highly rewarding to see the effects of each project and it truly makes science, technology, and engineering fun and the function obvious. The Snap Circuit Collection is an excellent STEM activity kit and gets high marks for learning, interaction, engagement, and repeat playing.
