The Essentials

So we have a greedy fox to catch in this game!  He is so greedy he tries to steel so many chickens, that eventually he loses his pants and you can then jump in and save the chickens! Since losing pants and underwear is a big part of the game, the kids get a big kick out of it. The mechanism by which he loses his pants is so well designed, it is an excellent experience!

Each player as a chicken coop and needs to save 5 chickens to win. When the fox loses his pants, all the chickens piled into his pockets are released and the kids race to save as many as they can in each round, until they have save 5 — it usually takes 1-2 quick rounds to achieve a win. The instructions are easy to follow and no batteries are required. Players roll a dice to see how many chickens the fox gets that roll and they push his head one time — play continues until the fox loses his pant, and the race to save the chickens starts.

Facilitate sequencing, motor speed, bilateral coordination, turn taking, social awareness, simple math, simple color recognition, simple number recognition and counting, simple cause-effect, intro to competition, managing the emotional part of anticipation, and build fine motor skills and upper arm coordination.

The Fox character is very well designed, the mechanism for losing losing his pants is really cool and adds to the “surprise” factor of the game.

Set-Up and Clean-Up

Set-up, clean-up, and storage of this game is simple. The pieces are easily cleaned and the cardboard chicken coops are strong. It is recommended to place the chickens in a small cup or plate to differentiate them from the stolen/released one’s and to use a ziploc.  The stickers that are supposed to adorn the fox’s underwear do come off easily — in a clinical or school setting, it is recommended to leave them off or use sharpies to draw a pattern on the plastic underwear.

The IF-THEN’S and the BUT’S
